Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year

We are excited to be able to provide 100% in-person instruction again and are committed to your child’s safety and success.

Please be sure that you have registered your child at his or her school of attendance.

All district staff are required to be vaccinated and it is strongly recommended that all students and staff wear a mask while at school or work.  For social stories and videos for students, visit: WCCUSD Padlet: Staying Safe at School

Parents and guardians must comply with the visitor protocols for each school site. Check with your school's front office.

All student services, other than at the virtual academy, are currently in person.

The Virtual Independent Study option is designed for students who are able to  independently access core curriculum with appropriate accommodations or modifications. Placement in Virtual Independent Study must be an IEP team decision. The IEP team will work together to carefully review and ensure that this option is designed to meet the learning needs of the student. Factors for consideration will include a student’s instructional access, including; attendance, participation and the ability to make progress toward goals as seen with virtual instruction during the 2022/2023 school year.

To begin the process for this option, please fill out the brief interest survey.

Home and Hospital Instruction is designed for those students for whom in-person is not an option due to medical needs. Placement in Home and Hospital is through the IEP team and is monitored regularly.
If you believe your child may require Home and Hospital Instruction, please contact your child's program specialist.

First Student is following current procedures which are compliant with the California Department of Public Health.  Windows will remain open to 2" for ventilation. Masks are required (unless there is a waiver in place) We have scheduled extra time at each stop to support students with this. Deep cleaning is done AM and PM after each route. Daily screening for drivers prior to route. For students it is self- screening.

In order to transport students to and from school in a timely manner, (scheduled routes less than one hour), First Student is contracting with RIDS Brothers Car Service. All RIDS drivers and vehicles must meet the same requirements as all First Student drivers and vehicles. RIDS vehicles will have the following decals in place.

If your child's transportation will be delayed by more than 15 minutes, you should expect a phone call from First Student or RIDS.
To contact First Student, parents may call (510)237-6677.

Any requests to your child’s transportation route involving new pick-up or drop-off addresses will take 5 days to change. To contact the Transportation department, call (510)307-4645 or email Patricia Alberto at Patricia.alberto@wccusd.net
