Hello Families,
I hope you and your loved ones are doing well during this time period.
My name is William McGee, the Director of African American Student Achievement. I want to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year and introduce myself as well as the Office of African American Student Achievement (OAASA). The OAASA was created from a resolution crafted by the African American Site Advisory Team (AASAT) that the WCCUSD school board adopted to address the needs and concerns of our African American/Black students.
With distance learning forcing us into a new educational environment, this school year will prove to be a unique experience for all of us. While school is slated to look different this school year, my office is doing everything in its power to ensure our Black students have the support they need to stay on course with, and increase, their academic achievement. Your school site administrative team, and all employees there, are working to provide a sound academic along with enrichment activities for your child. Our district and my office also need your support by engaging with us and your school site. You can do this by participating in the African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC) at your school site, and the AASAT which is our district level advisory team. [Read More]
