The goals of the WCCUSD Dual Language Immersion Program (DLIP) are fully aligned with the goals set forth in the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education known as the “Three Pillars of Dual Education”:
Bilingualism and Biliteracy: Students develop high levels of listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in both Spanish and English.
Academic Excellence: Students achieve academic excellence in all subject areas as they learn educational content in both languages.
Cross-cultural Competence: Students develop positive cross-cultural understandings and demonstrate their ability to appreciate the traditions and values of various cultures in our society and around the world.
