THE ED FUND AWARDS 40 ARTS PROJECT GRANTS WITHIN THE WCCUSD

RICHMOND, CA-- The West Contra Costa Public Education Fund (Ed Fund) announced the projects awarded through the 2021-2022 Bradley Arts Mini-Grants program.

This year, the Ed Fund awarded grants to 40 different projects ranging from $500 for individual classrooms to $1,000 for school-wide grants. The total cost of these projects is nearly $26,000, and the funds come from the Brad Bradley Bequest and generous donations from our supporters -- who helped fund an additional three projects.

There is a wide variety of projects funded this year that range from performing songs of protest at De Anza High School to teaching Kindergarteners how to breakdance at Harding Elementary. Regardless of the project, the Ed Fund looked to award projects that empower and support students with their social, educational, and academic needs as they return to the classroom, and provided additional points to projects that focused on the needs of African American/Black students or that incorporated art of African American/Black artists.

“This year’s Bradley Arts Grant winners include so many amazing projects that will give students the opportunity to express themselves and recover from a year of interrupted learning, as well as uplift students who are historically underserved,” said Ed Fund Program Manager, Sarah Camacho. “We are all so excited to see the art our West Contra Costa students create!”

The Ed Fund has been awarding classroom grants since 1983. The full list of the 2021-2022 awardees can be found at www.edfundwest.org/what-we-do/classroom-grants/.
