• Concussion Information for Athletes Grades 7-12

A new law provides "return to play" guidelines for student athletes following a concussion.
Assembly Bill 25, which passed on January 1, 2012, requires parent notification of concussion management in all team sports in grades 7-12. A student who has been removed due to a head injury may not return to play until he/she is evaluated by a licensed health care provider trained in the evaluation and management of concussions. A written authorization from a licensed health care provider is required before the student athlete can return to play following any head injury during a practice or game.
More information can be found on the Concussion Information Sheet.
