VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Department
Richmond High is excited to bolster our art programs. The Department Chair is Mr. Zaragoza, who teaches digital art. Our students love taking courses taught by our experienced teachers like Mr. Hudson, who teaches Fine Arts, as well as Mr. Ohlmann, who teaches photography and video production. Both of these courses give strong curriculum and skills to students looking to master several mediums of expression, while also giving student voice and creativity a path. Ask your counselor today how you can get involved in the arts programs!
When arriving at Richmond High, one of the first things you will notice is that the school is covered with student art. From murals in the hallways, to student photography around the school. We celebrate our divsersity and the variety of perspectives that are part of the human experience. Our video production classes put on weekly anouncements, and Mr. Ohlmann's class puts on their own film festival. Our theater has also finished construction on a multi-million dollar upgrade. Look for opportunities in art in both our CAPA and Multimedia Academies.
