  • What’s good, Olinda families?

Here are your updates for the week of August 15th through the 19th! First off- welcome back! And welcome to our new families too! We’re so excited to see you! There is no school Monday the 15th- we will have the class lists posted for you to see between 9 am and 4 pm. The office is not open- unless you made an appointment with us last week- the office is not open, you will not be able to come into the building. Any questions please email us! jcole@wccusd.net and rlee.gorton@wccusd.net

Tuesday August 16th breakfast will begin at 7:15 am in the MPR. It is for students only, no families may stay to eat breakfast with their students at this time. At 8:10 TK and K will begin and you may bring your student to the gate up the stairs by the garden to drop them off for their day. No parents may go into the classrooms at this time.

8:20 is the start time for our other students- and they may walk up the ramp gate or the Castro ranch road gate at 8:10 to start the morning stroll. No parents may walk their students to the classrooms at this time.

Parents- if you wish to come on campus you must be cleared through the visitor policy as posted on the district website- this is a district policy about folks who are allowed on campus. Volunteers also please start at the district website- wccusd.net for all information on how our campuses are set up.

The first day of school is also a minimum day! That means we get out at the same time as our Wednesday minimum days- so be sure to check your bell schedules! https://www.wccusd.net/domain/2438 This is all posted on the website, along with classroom supply lists, information on how to update your powerschool forms, and the new communications platform used by the entire district- ParentSquare. In fact there is a good chance that many questions can be easily and quickly answered on the website or via an email! We encourage you to check there first and then if you can’t find what you are looking for? Email us! No need to wait in line at a turn to get into the office- email us. Make an appointment.

Your student will bring home quite a bit of information that first day- including Powerschool Access ID codes and more!  The PTA website is also a wonderful source of information , and our principal’s welcome back letter is already posted on our website.

Weekly- we update the website- send texts, emails, and robocalls- be sure you are checking your preferred source for information. There is also an Olinda Facebook group that will have information copied to it as well.

Dust off those LSA accounts now- do not wait. Go to the district website as all the covid testing information is there, with walkthrough guides and videos https://gvp.app/com.gvp.login
