Mr. Luis
Hello! My name is Andrew Luis and I am thrilled to be working with students participating in independent studies at Vista High School!
Here at Vista our goal is to foster Resilience in students so they can overcome any challenge through effort and a mindset of Continuous Improvement. To help students in their path towards graduation, I strive to create healthy, positive, and professional Relationships with my students so I can better meet their needs as their Supervising Teacher with a Flexible approach towards meeting personal and learning goals. Here at Vista we know every student has unique interests, skills, goals, and challenges, and THE BEST part of this job is growing as learners alongside our amazing students. At Vista we are a Community of schools where we know the work we do today will have lasting impact on our students, school, neighborhoods, and we strive to be an asset to our community.
Personally, I live with my wife and two sons in Central California. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family, reading, writing, playing soccer, and watching a variety of sports. My teaching experience prior to Vista includes teaching mathematics in grades 9-12 as well as being an adjunct professor in the Teacher Education Program at Fresno Pacific University. I received my BA in Mathematics, Teaching Credential in Mathematics, and my Masters in Teaching from Fresno Pacific University.
