Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in Southern California, and went to Cal State Northridge for my BA in Political Science. I earned my Master's in Middle East Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Living abroad for a year was a wonderful eye-opening experience and I recommend it to everyone who has the chance. I have been lucky enough to visit many countries including Mexico, Peru, the UK, Denmark, Egypt and Lebanon. I also recommend world travel to anyone who has the opportunity to do so.
I live with my girlfriend and our two cats. I like spending time with them as well as cooking, walking/cycling, writing short stories and watching movies. I am an animal lover and care a lot about the environment and human rights.
I moved to the Bay Area six years ago and have been teaching in WCCUSD for the past five years. I was previously at Pinole Middle School and am excited to start at Hercules.
My teaching philosophy: I strongly believe in creating an inclusive environment of mutual respect for my students. I stay in touch with parents using the "Remind" app and I use Google Classroom for almost everything in my class. I am big on communication and parent involvement! I appreciate each and every one of you and I see you as my partners in your child's success. Please email me with any questions, and I will get back to you as promptly as possible (firstname.lastname@example.org). I care a great deal about my students' success and will do my best to support them and their families during this difficult time of Covid-19. I do my best to challenge my students to reach their fullest potential. Students should do their best to practice proper spelling and to read as much as possible. This will increase their skills and make school much easier. Please check my syllabus for more information on how my class works.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to getting to know you all, and hopefully meeting everyone in person at some point!
