Joseph Glatzer

I love teaching and I think it is the best job in the world.

I grew up in Southern California and went to Cal State Northridge for my BA in Political Science. I earned my Master's in Middle East Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Living abroad for a year was a wonderful eye-opening experience and I recommend it to everyone who has the chance. I have been lucky enough to visit many countries including Mexico, Peru, the UK, Denmark, Egypt and Lebanon.

I live with my partner and our cat. I like spending time with them as well as doing cooking, walking/cycling, writing short stories and watching movies & British police detective shows. I am an animal lover and care a lot about the environment and human rights.

I moved to the Bay Area seven years ago and have been teaching in WCCUSD for seven years now.

My teaching philosophy: I strongly believe in creating an inclusive environment of mutual respect for my students. I stay in touch with parents using the "Remind" app and I use Google Classroom for almost everything in my class. I am big on communication and parent involvement! I appreciate each and every one of you and I see you as my partners in your child's success. Please email me with any questions, and I will get back to you as promptly as possible (joseph.glatzer@wccusd.net). I care a great deal about my students' success and will do my best to support them and their families during this difficult time of Covid-19. I do my best to challenge my students to reach their fullest potential. Students should do their best to practice proper spelling and to read as much as possible. This will increase their skills and make school much easier. Please check my syllabus for more information on how my class works.

Thanks for reading. I look forward to getting to know you all.
