  • Spring Return Update 4/16/21

Posted by Mirel Rivera on 4/16/2021 6:30:00 PM

Greetings Junior Titan families this is Principal Ryan Shaw with some updates.

This Monday sees some of our students and staff return to the campus for our Spring reopening. Most of our families and staff have chosen to remain doing distance learning school at home. Families who have opted to participate in the Spring reopening have received an email from the school with instructions and a link to the contract and waiver form. Please complete the form before school on Monday. If you have not received that email, your student is not on the list for Spring reopening so please do not send them to the campus. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.

We anticipate for the first couple of days that some issues may arise. We ask that you continue to be patient with us as we work to provide the best program possible for all of our students within the limitations we face.

Have a great day, and stay Titan strong.

Greetings Junior Titan families this is Principal Ryan Shaw with an Important Spring Message.

We are in the process of finalizing our program offering for the Spring. The plan is that starting on April 19th schools will be open to support students in either an intervention block from 2-4PM, or in a hub from 10:00-12:25 based on staff availability. During this time the core instructional mode remains distance learning. If you have not already completed the Intent to return survey form we have extended the deadline to Wednesday April 14th at 4:00 PM. The survey is attached, and asks if you are interested in returning for the Intervention time, returning for the hub time or not returning. This survey is being done to gauge interest. The decision to return during the Spring is strictly voluntary for both you and your family and for staff. Our Site model for in-person support will depend on available staffing. Any additional spaces will be made available to any interested student/family. Thank you to everyone who has already completed the survey.

Have a great day, and stay Titan strong.

  • Update 4/5/21

Posted by Mirel Rivera on 4/5/2021 6:00:00 PM

Greetings Junior Titan families this is Principal Ryan Shaw with an Important Spring Message.

As you may be aware the school board has approved the district's memorandum of understanding to reopen the school buildings. The idea is that starting on April 19th schools will be open to support students in either intervention blocks outside of the  instructional day or in hubs during the instructional day. During this time the core instructional mode remains distance learning.

The decision to return during the Spring is strictly voluntary for both you and your family and for staff. Hercules Middle Schools model for Spring will depend on available staff that volunteers and knowing which students are able and willing to attend. To help us plan, linked to the email version of this call is an interest to return survey. The survey is also found on the schools website. Your answers will help us outline the model we will be able to offer. The survey asks if you are interested in returning for the Intervention time, returning for the hub time, or not returning. This survey is being done to gauge interest. We ask that you complete the survey no later than Thursday April 8th at 5:00PM. Based on the response, a final intent to return form will be sent by the district the week of April 12th.

I know that there are lots of questions surrounding the Spring plan. This survey will help us to better answer many of the questions. More information will be coming out in the next few weeks. Please be on the lookout for communication from the school. Once again, please take a minute to complete the survey no later than 5 PM on Thursday April 12th.

Have a great day, and stay Titan strong.
