Greetings Junior Titan Families, This is Principal Ryan Shaw with important end of year messages.

Students congratulations on completing the 2020-2021 school year under such challenging circumstances. I am looking forward to our return to in-person school on August 16. Report cards are being mailed home next week.

Students participating in summer school have received confirmation emails. Summer school starts on Monday June 14th at 9:00 AM. The main entrance gate is our single point of entry and exit for summer school. Please try to arrive prior to 9 so we can check the student in, do the temperature check and verify that we have received the summer school waivers. Parents need to complete those forms before students start summer school. Only students who have registered for summer school should come to school next week.

On a more serious note, during the last few weeks of school, we had a few unfortunate incidents of inappropriate behavior take place in virtual settings. We are dealing with them and taking the necessary steps to ensure that the parties involved receive the necessary support. The Titan community works hard to ensure that physical and mental health are the top priority. Bullying, whether it is in-person or virtual, has no place in our community. As we move into the summer I want to take this opportunity to remind us of the Titan values and to emphasize that bullying has no place in our community. As Titans we:
    Show Respect
    Are Kind
    Take Responsibility
    Strive for Academic Excellence
And Work Harder to Get Smarter

Parents, let's continue to live and strengthen the Titans’ values over the summer. Please continue to talk to your students about positive behavior both online and in-person and monitor their screen time. I have included a link to great resources from Common Sense Media about staying safe online and modeling digital citizenships. You can find the resources at bit.ly/titansstrong.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, Principal Shaw, at (510) 231-1429 or via email at rshaw@wccusd.net. One last congratulations to our 8th graders, job well done and best of luck in high school. Have a great day and stay Titan Strong.
