Greetings Junior Titan families, this is principal Ryan Shaw with some important updates.
Today we had a great start to the school year. We want to build on that start and have a fantastic first week. Just a couple of quick reminders for the rest of the week. Students, please remember to bring and wear your IDs every day. They are an important part of our overall site safety plan. Students, please bring your textbooks to class each day.
Parents, the traffic situation in the turn around afterschool today was problematic. We will be using cones to block off some areas to address part of the congestion. We had a difficult time getting the busses to their designated areas, the cross walk was occasionally blocked, cars were lined up in red zones, and there were cars parked in the turn around that were left unattended. You can help alleviate the congestion by having your student meet you in the swim center parking lot or another alternative location. Additionally you can set your pick up time for 15 minutes after school as on most days the traffic has decreased by then.
Thanks for a tremendous first day. Stay Titan Strong

Hercules Middle School is a positive academic community and I want to welcome you all to the 2019-2020 school year. The first day of school is Monday and I am so excited to see all of our students. This is going to be a fantastic year. To help Monday run as smooth as possible here are some tips, reminders and helpful information. School starts at 8:30am. Monday is a minimum day with a 1:40pm dismissal. Students will go to an advisory period to receive their official schedules. Advisory lists will be posted outside the main office and the cafeteria. Staff will be positioned around the school with the advisory as well. Students and families who did not go to walk through registration need to report to the cafeteria to take ID pictures, complete any forms, and get textbooks. The cafeteria will open at 8:00am. Students need to bring and wear their IDs on day one and every day. Any student who does not have an ID should report to the cafeteria. Students who took a picture during walkthrough registration but did not pick up the ID will get their ID in the cafeteria. Students who checked out their textbooks and took them home, bring them to school on Monday. Parents and guardians, many of our school forms are now online. You can log into the PowerSchool parent portal to fill them out. An important form for the school is the Multi Purpose Family Income Form. Our goal is 100% of families submitting this form. This would give us the top percentage in the district. Also, parents, parking and traffic can be especially congested the first few weeks of school and during pick up times. Please remember to be patient and considerate of pedestrians and other drivers during these stressful times, and be mindful of all traffic laws and parking restrictions especially along Refugio Valley Road. And lastly, as the year begins, I want to emphasize our Titan Values. Titans are kind, Titans are safe and Titans are responsible. We will see you Monday.

There will be extra forms available during walkthrough registration.
New student orientation will be on Monday August 12th from 6-7 PM in the cafeteria.
