Arts in School
Music and art programs at Michelle Obama School are offered by instructors from the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts.

Physical education and activities at Michelle Obama School are provided through a partnership with Playworks Northern California - East Bay.

BACR Expanded Learning Program & GirlSmart
-Bay Area Community Resources offers an Expanded Learning Program at Michelle Obama School. The Expanded Learning Program operates every school day from the end of school until 6:00pm, free of charge. GirlSmart supports reading readiness for girls in Kindergarten through Grade 2.

Y-Kids Before & After School Program
Michelle Obama School hosts a Y-Kids site through the E. M. Downer Family YMCA. The Y-Kids Program offers before-school care from 7:00-8:30am and after-school care 2:00-6:00pm.
Participation in the program is need-based and income-restricted.

After-School and Summer Music, Dance, and Theatre
The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts offers additional courses after-school and during the summer.
After-school programs are free.
Michelle Obama School students are eligible for a discount for other programs for attending a Title 1 school.
