Pérez-Caro

Mitzi Pérez-Caro (she/they) is a community advocate with deep roots in Richmond, CA. Mrs. Pérez-Caro is a homegrown teacher in Richmond and is an alumnus of West Contra Costa schools. She is currently the Digital Arts and Web Design teacher at Kennedy High School, a former reporter for the Richmond Pulse, and a former videographer for Fusion. She is currently the Black Student Union advisor and the Lead Teacher of the Information Technology Academy. She is currently the CTA (California Teachers Association) State Council Representative of United Teachers of Richmond, a member of the Healthy Richmond Schools and Neighborhood Action Team, and an honorary Santa Fe Neighborhood Council Member. She has worked in the past as a grassroots organizer centered around education. She is deeply invested in ensuring that students in Richmond and the community at large thrive. Mrs. Pérez-Caro graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies with a credential in Career Technical Education.
