ParentLink Message 2.8.22
Good evening, Lincoln families. This is Mrs. Parham with an important update from our Lincoln team.
Unfortunately, around 1:30 p.m. today, we had to go into lockdown because gun shots were fired behind our school, close to the greenway. There were a few classes outdoors on the play yard when this happened, but we were able to rush them inside to safety right away. At the advice of Richmond Police, we went into lockdown which meant all students and staff were brought into rooms, and locked all doors and windows. Approximately 30 minutes later, we received a call from Richmond Police that it was safe to lift the lockdown, and we went back to our normal dismissal. As you can imagine, many of our Lincoln students were shaken up by this event, particularly those classes who were outdoors when it happened. Please take the time to speak with your child if you believe they may have been affected.
Thank you. The safety of our community is our top priority. Take care, and good night.
