Dear Lincoln Community,

My name is Taylor Parham and I am the very proud principal of Lincoln!  This is my eighth year serving Lincoln – I was the Vice Principal for 3 years, and am in my fifth year as principal.  I feel incredibly lucky to call Lincoln my second home, as it is a diverse, vibrant community where staff and families truly work in partnership to serve our incredible students.

I bring with me 21 years of experience in education (13 of those right here in the Iron Triangle neighborhood of Richmond).  Before coming to Lincoln, I served as a special education teacher at DeJean Middle School for five years.  I am extremely passionate about restorative practices, differentiated learning for ALL students, and elevating student voice.

At Lincoln, we have worked hard to narrow our “north star focus area” down to early literacy.  We recognize that knowing how to read is a civil right that all students are entitled to, and that reading is often a gatekeeper for all other areas of education.  To that end, Lincoln staff members are passionate and committed to providing our students with not only grade level material, but also targeted intervention support to help them grow in their reading.

We are also a “community school” in every sense of the term.  We pride ourselves on being a safe haven where our families can come for support, whether it be for coordinating medical help, support for their living situation, or any immediate needs.  We have multiple teams that run our campus, and we guarantee if you need help, we have a team that can support you!

I believe in fostering a positive school culture that promotes academic excellence, social-emotional development, and a love for learning. I am committed to working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and community members to ensure that every child receives a high-quality education that prepares them for success in the future.
