My child was exposed to COVID-19 at school. What’s next?
If your child was exposed to COVID-19 at school, the school will work with Contra Costa Health Services to determine the appropriate quarantine option. Students who are symptom-free and fully vaccinated or have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days do not need to quarantine, but they should get tested 3-5 days after exposure. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated students will need to quarantine in some way depending on the situation and get tested. Click to read the County Health FAQs, and scroll to "Testing For School Children" to find a K-12 Close Contact Follow-up Chart and Quarantine Guide for K-12 Schools.
