Here’s a quick reminder of school logistics:
-
All students can have a free breakfast and lunch every day. Breakfast will be available from 8:00-8:30 in the cafeteria.
-
Note: Because every student can have free breakfast and lunch, the office will not accept any food deliveries during the school day.
-
-
All students will enter through the front gate. Students will line up at 8:25 and head off to class with the 8:30 bell.
-
The bell schedule will remain the same as last year.
-
Grades TK-K will be dismissed at 1:15 every day.
-
Grades 1-3 will be dismissed at 2:31 and Grades 4-6 will be dismissed at 2:51 on regular school days.
-
Minimum day dismissal times are 1:15 for Grades TK-3 and 1:35 for grades 4-6. Please be on time to pick up your children.
-
Every Wednesday is a minimum day. Teachers must attend professional development promptly at 1:45. Please be respectful of that time.
-
-
-
If you have students in both grade spans, please be here at the earlier time to supervise your younger child while you wait for your older child to be dismissed.
-
Reminder: we will not dismiss students in the last 20 minutes of their school day.
-
-
Please fill out the annual forms before the beginning of school. They can be found at wccusd.powerschool.com/public
-
Parents must check in at the office if volunteering.
-
Volunteers must have a volunteer badge.
-
Our new volunteer screening system is Verkada.
-
All volunteers new and returning must apply through this new system.
-
-
-
Students will need to be dropped off at the gate as they enter the building.
-
Anything that needs to be dropped off during the day (homework, jackets, etc.) should be taken to the office and we will deliver it to your child.
-
-
Finally, I’d like to remind you that we welcome parent and community badged volunteers. Studies show that when “schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more” (A New Wave of Evidence, Southwest Educational Development Lab). Stop in at the office to find out how you can help - either on site or at home. Let’s work together to make our children the best students they can be!
Again, welcome back to what we expect to be a spectacular Valley View Elementary school year!
Mrs. Sundberg
