Good Evening Ford Families,

We hope that everyone had a great weekend! Here are our reminders for this week:

1. We need your support. Right now there is a social media challenge impacting many of our schools. There are Tik Tok videos where students are challenged to steal school related items such as wall clocks, teacher mics, staplers, hand-sanitizer, microscopes, fire extinguishers, soap dispensers, to trash school bathrooms, or slap a staff member. Sadly, this has already impacted our school. We have made school-wide announcements letting students know that any kind of vandalism will not be tolerated. Please support us in our efforts and discuss these types of social media challenges with your students. Please discuss the impact that this has on our staff and school community and also reiterate the seriousness of these challenges including the consequences for any involvement or participation. It takes a village and we want to thank you in advance for your support.

2. COVID Testing: We are excited to announce that starting Monday, September 27, there will be no need to make a testing appointment once you have completed the online registration. If you made an online appointment for last Wednesday the 29th, you do not need to make an appointment again. Once registered, students and staff will only provide their name and date of birth to receive a test on test day.

3. It is important that all students and staff register online for COVID testing. October 13th will be the last day that LSA accepts paper forms. On October 20th, LSA will only test students who have done the online forms.

4. Do you need help signing up online for COVID testing? Attend one of these sessions, where LSA will walk you through the sign-up process and answer any questions:

5. Your student’s attendance continues to be of vital importance to their education. Please make sure you email us at ford@wccusd.net or call the office to notify us when they are not feeling well or staying home for any other reason. Students' should remain in school all day. If you have any doctor's appointment or appointments please make sure you schedule them outside of school hours. Please try to avoid early pick-ups so that your students don’t miss out on their learning. Thank you so much for your support.

Buenas noches, familias de Ford,

¡Esperamos que todos hayan tenido un gran fin de semana! Aquí están nuestros recordatorios para esta semana:

1. Necesitamos su apoyo. En este momento, existe un desafío en las redes sociales que afecta a muchas de nuestras escuelas. Hay videos de Tik Tok en los que se desafía a los estudiantes a robar artículos relacionados con la escuela, como relojes de pared, micrófonos de maestros, engrapadoras, desinfectante de manos, microscopios, extintores de incendios, dispensadores de jabón, tirar la basura en los baños de la escuela o golpear a un miembro del personal. Lamentablemente, esto ya ha afectado a nuestra escuela. Hemos hecho anuncios en toda la escuela para informar a los estudiantes que no se tolerará ningún tipo de vandalismo. Por favor apóyenos y hable con su estudiantes sobre este tipo de desafíos en las redes sociales. Por favor, hable sobre el impacto que esto tiene en nuestro personal y la comunidad escolar y también sobre la gravedad de esto y las consecuencias. Gracias por su apoyo.

2. Prueba COVID: Nos complace anunciar que a partir del lunes 27 de septiembre, no será necesario hacer una cita para la prueba una vez que haya completado el registro en línea. Si hizo una cita en línea para el pasado miércoles 29, no es necesario que vuelva a hacer una cita. Una vez registrados, los estudiantes y el personal solo proporcionarán su nombre y fecha de nacimiento para recibir una prueba el día de la prueba.

3. Es importante que todos los estudiantes y el personal se registren en línea para las pruebas COVID. El 13 de octubre será el último día en que LSA aceptará formularios en papel. El 20 de octubre, LSA solo evaluará a los estudiantes que hayan completado los formularios en línea.

5. La asistencia de su estudiante es importante para su educación. Envíenos un correo electrónico a ford@wccusd.net o llame a la oficina para notificarnos cuando no se sientan bien o se queden en casa por cualquier otro motivo.
