Back To School via Distance Learning

Welcome Back to School 2020 -2021

Greetings students, staff, parents and community members.

Welcome back to Bayview!

I hope that during these unprecedented times, each of you had an opportunity for respite, as well as spending quality time with your loved ones.  Now we are looking forward to the 2020 -2021 school year which will be both exciting and challenging.

The first day of school is rapidly approaching and begins August 17th.  We will continue the platform of using 100% distance learning.  We are also looking forward to a new and exciting year of continuous teaching and learning for students success.

We have been working hard with preparing for our school year with student registration, as well as student class list, and setting up for the first day of school.

Bayview is a school that is concerned about each of our student's social and emotional learning needs.  This includes students setting and achieving goals, building postive relationships, showing empathy towards others, making responsible decisions, as well as learning to understand, and manage emotins.  This is found in our school's PBIS model which includes:  Be safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Kind.  It is imperative that each student knows that he or she belongs while learning to build positive relationships that will last a lifetime.

Our teachers are very excited to return and have planned robust learning, which includes synchronous learning, where teachers and students work simultaneously together.  Also asynchronous learning, where students will be able to work independently.  Addtionall a few of our teachers have created virtual classrooms!

Our goal is student success, and we realize tht this is a collaborative effort that involves all stakeholders.

This year, our schedule will be slightly different.  Teachers will be lesson planning the first thing in the morning for students from 8:20 - 10am.  Students will start school each day with distance learning from 10 am - 3 pm.  Our students will continue  to receive the rigor in each subject matter via block scheduling.  More information to come during our parent orientation scheduled for August 13th, at noon via zoom.

See important dates below:

August 13th @ noon: Parent Orientation via Zoom

August 17th First day of School: Students are in virtual school from 10 am - 3 pm

August 18th Back To School via Virtual Zoom or Google meet ( Teachers will arange the platform for meeting online).

I look forward to continuing the work as your principal, and excited to see each and everyone of you as we continue our work together for student's success.

I would like to leave you with a quote.

"The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows."
