August 14 Return to School: Welcome Back School Begins Monday, Aug. 17

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! It has been quite the summer for us, and this school year begins Monday, Aug. 17 like no other year. Thanks to students, families, teachers, school principals, staff, and community partners, we begin the year with a community-driven virtual/distancing learning plan.

July 20: Return To School Framework Submitted to Contra Costa County Office of Education

I hope that you are having a safe and restful summer. Today, as promised, we submitted the Back to School Vision & Framework to the Contra Costa County Office of Education. As we shared on July 9, the 2020-21 school year will begin in a distance learning format when instruction resumes on Monday, August 17.

Today, as promised, I am releasing our framework for returning to school this fall. I hope that everyone can appreciate that school will not look the same when full-time instruction resumes on August 17.

Spring/Summer 2011 Message from the Superintendent

Question: What's a service that's free or very low cost, gives the opportunity to improve our lives, and is located close to home?
The answer: Adult Education in the West Contra Costa Unified School District.

Whether it's adult basic education, job related courses or personal enrichment, our Adult Education program has it all. The teachers and staff are second to none in knowledge, skill and customer service. Everyone in this program is proud to assist community members who take our classes and programs. The program is set up so that busy people can take advantage of the classes we offer. This program is so good that it's been recognized as one of the best in the state and the nation.

I invite you to try us out. If you take just one course, I'm confident you'll be back for others. Nearly all our students take more than one course. Once they've joined us, our students see how helpful our Adult School can be and join thousands of others in lifelong learning.
