Academic Hub (School Day Block)

Teacher Support up to 15 students in person while simultaneously supporting other students with Distance Learning (aide for support).  All students will recieve instruction through distance learning. 

 

 

Greetings Hercules High School,

We are in the final quarter for the 2020-21 school year.  There will be a mandatory senior class meeting this coming Tuesday at 2pm. 

Honor Roll Certificates from Quarter 1 and Semester 1 are available through the main office Monday - Thursday from 9am - 11am.  Please wear your mask and keep socially distanced while picking up your honor roll certificates. Lifetouch photo packages will also be available for pick up on Monday in front of the school. 

Class of 2021, your graduation date is June 3rd.  The tentative time is at 11am.  More plans will be shared depending on the county status during that time.  Seniors, make sure you focus on passing all of your classes this semester, your graduation status depends on it. 

An agreement was approved for a voluntary in person support for students, starting on April 19th.  The process for confirming and scheduling will occur through April 12 - 15th. In person support schedules will be reflected in powerschool on April 15th or 16th. This is a voluntary in person support program.  All scheduled classes will continue to be held virtually.  Any student who comes on campus will still be connecting with their classes virtually. Teachers will still be sending out their weekly agenda on Monday’s.  Weekly agendas should identify which days the teacher will be conducting live sessions. There will remain a mixture of asynchronous and synchronous assignments per class. 

We are currently identifying the top 5% of our highest needs students and reaching out to individuals who would like to receive instructional support on campus.  There are two choices for in person support.  The first is a 8-10am Intervention Cohort,  for individuals who need assistance connecting to the WIFI, navigating through clever, and completing assignments online.  https://forms.gle/61qMbA196xDT1aBf9

The second in person option  is the academic hub which will be from 10:00am - 2pm. This in person support will be focussed on assisting students through their distance learning, connecting with the WIFI, and completing assignments online. Students will still attend all scheduled classes virtually.

All students should have completed their course requests for the 21-22 school year.   Make sure that you log into your powerschool accounts and select your classes for the upcoming school year. All parents need to update your powerschool contact information prior for the 21-22 school year. 

We are also planning for an in person summer school for incoming 9th grade, current 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade.  The registration process for summer school will start after we finalize all in person support sign ups. 

Anyone interested in participating in Boys and Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Along with Track, and Wrestling please contact Athletic Director Coach Grecco for more information on tryouts and the start of the seasons.

Homework Center We are offering support for 9th and 10th grade students who need additional support in their Math and English courses.  Ms. Palis is the coordinator for the homework center and will be hosting virtual tutorial sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15 - 3:15.  Students in need of assistance can join the google classroom by entering the following code: catdenf.  You can email Ms. Palis for more specific information (jpalis@wccusd.net)
