Dear Parent/Guardians,

On behalf of the entire Sylvester Greenwood Academy faculty and staff, I would like to express our well wishes to you and your family during this extended period of school closure. We are fortunate to live in a strong and caring community. Together we will not only face our challenges, we will overcome them. During this unprecedented time, we want to make sure that you remain well informed and that you understand our efforts to maintain a continuity of learning for students. Currently, school leaders and teachers are working on new ways to provide educational opportunities while respecting the social distancing guidelines established during this pandemic.

Beginning Monday, August 17th, distance learning will resume for all of your student’s courses. Instruction will be delivered through Google Classroom – with daily Social Emotional Support and check-ins during the advisory period. Teachers will also utilize Google Classroom and ParentLink to maintain communication with parents and students.  Prior to August 17th, you can anticipate hearing from your student’s teachers.  They will share with you the process for accessing curriculum.

We ask for your continued patience as we work through the logistics of developing distance-learning activities. Please continue to refer to the district website, www.WCCUSD.net, and our school website for additional information. Finally, we wish you all good health and we look forward to returning to school in the future.

Thank you,

Phillip Johnson
