Parents and Students,

With the current situation, it is important to keep students engaged and learning even though we are away from the classroom. I want to ensure students do not fall behind and are still working toward their 5th grade goals this year. I have already informed students of our plan but would parents to see what the students and I will be doing during this time. The class will be meeting Monday-Friday, from 8:45-10:15am. Students will be working through a class novel study, as well as grade level math assignments through Khan Academy. Students also will be working on a writing project that we will discuss as the trimester progresses. I want to be clear that I hold high standards for student participation and digital citizenship, so students must be present and ready to learn each online session. Google Classroom is the digital space we use as a class, and messages can be sent to me from there if you have any immediate concerns. I am excited to continue to work with your child even though we are not in the classroom.
