California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing dates will be April 25th - April 29th

Dear Hercules High School Parent/Guardian:

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the state academic testing program that will be administered to ALL 11th-grade students, in addition to 12th graders who will test only in science. The CAASPP includes computer adaptive tests in English–language arts (ELA) and math (Smarter Balanced Assessment), as well as the CAST Science test. Testing dates will be April 25th - April 29th. We will be on a special bell schedule throughout these days.

ALL 11th & 12th-grade students will need to bring their fully charged, school-issued laptop with them during testing, as ALL testing requires the use of their tablet.

  • Please remind your child to power their tablet off and plug it in overnight.
  • Students need to be on campus by 8:20 am.
  • Testing will begin each day at 8:30 am.
  • Students must present their school-issued ids prior to entering the testing room.
  • The Early Assessment Program assessment for ELA and math will be part of the Smarter Balanced Assessment. The Early Assessment Program is part of the California State University system and is designed to provide students, their families, and high schools with academic performance data used to determine and/or predict a student’s readiness for college-level ELA and math.

Academic Conversation: Preparation builds confidence!

Thank you for taking the time to discuss the importance of these assessments with your child and to encourage them to do their very best throughout all the exams. Your support is important in making this a successful experience for your child and our school.
