WCCUSD Board of Trustees Selects Leadership Associates To Find District's Next Superintendent
RICHMOND -- The West Contra Costa Unified School District’s Board of Trustees approved the contract of Leadership Associates to hire its next Superintendent.
The Board voted 3-0 on Tuesday, Nov. 17 to approve hiring the Southern California organization to assist in the search for the District’s 10th permanent superintendent. Leadership Associates is in the process of scheduling multiple community stakeholder meetings, starting on Monday, November 30.
A community-wide survey on what qualities and characteristics the community is seeking in its next Superintendent will be available on the District’s website starting Monday, November 30.
The Superintendent search process is expected to take several months. A new superintendent could be hired by the end of March and begin working in the District on July 1. The superintendent timeline is available here.
Current Superintendent Matthew Duffy announced on Thursday, Nov. 5 that he would not seek a contract extension in June. Superintendent Duffy was hired in 2016 to be the District’s 9th superintendent. Leadership Associates was the firm that helped find and recruit Supt. Duffy.
