Ed Fund Accepting Applications for African American Male College Scholarship
Current African American male high school seniors attending a public school within the boundaries of West Contra Costa Unified School District who have completed their FAFSA or California Dream Act Application and have demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply for the African American Male Scholarship through the Ed Fund. You must be planning to enroll in a nonprofit college in the fall of 2017. Eight $1,500 scholarships are available and are renewable for up to 4 years. The Ed Fund manages a scholarship program for high school seniors attending a public school within the boundaries of West Contra Costa Unified School District s who demonstrate financial need and have a strong desire to positively impact their community. Since 2005, the Ed Fund has awarded over 1.6 million dollars in scholarships to nearly 522 students. The Scholarship Program is supported by the African American Male Scholarship, B Andrew Gooden Memorial Scholarship, Bernice Bell Memorial Scholarship, Irene S. Scully Family Foundation, Norma and Arthur Schroeder Family Foundation, and Whittier Education Foundation.
