ELPAC resources

ELPAC is the English Language Proficiency Assessment for California students identified as English Learners or Multilingual Learners. The initial ELPAC is administered when families indicate in the Home Language Survey that another language is spoken at home upon the student's enrollment at school. In contrast, the summative ELPAC is given annually, during the spring to every English Learner in order to measure progress toward proficiency. Scoring an "Overall 4" is one of the criteria required for students to demonstrate their English proficiency and be candidates for reclassification.
