COVID-19 Testing after Spring Break

Español

Dear WCCUSD community:

Testing is an important aspect of our district’s COVID-19 mitigation plan, and one of the actions we can all take to keep one another safe. With the upcoming spring break holiday, we are providing additional testing resources for our community’s safety.

Take-home tests
We have secured enough COVID-19 at-home rapid test kits from the California Department of Public Health and Contra Costa County Health Services to provide all students and staff with a box containing two tests. These tests have been distributed to sites, and should be sent home to students prior to spring break. We ask that these tests be taken before coming to school on the day of Monday, April 11: the first test should be taken on Friday, April 8 and the second test should be taken on Sunday, April 10. Please do not come to school or work if you have a positive test.

Additional testing sites
WCCUSD will also be operating seven COVID-19 testing sites around the district the day before returning to school after spring break, on Sunday, April 10, from 9 am to 3 pm. Here are the testing sites:

  • Alvarado School 5625 Sutter St. Richmond, 94804
  • District Office 1108 Bissell Ave. Richmond, 94801
  • El Cerrito High School 540 Ashbury Ave. El Cerrito, 94530
  • Helms Middle School 2500 Road 20 San Pablo, 94806
  • Ohlone Elementary School 201 Turquoise Dr. Hercules, 94547 (Testing site is located in the parking lot on Pheasant Drive)
  • Pinole Valley High School 2900 Pinole Valley Rd. Pinole, 94564
  • Richmond High School 1250 - 23rd St. Richmond, 94804

The sites are open to WCCUSD staff, students, parents, siblings, staff spouses and their children ages 2 and older. If you have not registered, click here to register and schedule an antigen test. Everyone who tests must be registered in the LSA system.

Thank you for everything you are doing to keep our community safe.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kenneth Chris Hurst
Superintendent
