Kennedy HS Football Coach Named Raider's Coach of The Week
The Kennedy High School Football team earned another accolade on Tuesday, October 31 when the Oakland Raiders named coach George Jackson Jr. the "Tom Flores High School Football Coach of the Week."
The Eagles helped their coach receive the recognition after beating Tri-Counties Athletic League Stone Division rival Hercules 21-14 on October 20. The win improved Kennedy’s record to 6-1 and 2-0 in league. Kennedy is one win away from its second straight outright league title, a feat last accomplished nearly 30 years ago.
"This is big for our program," Jackson said. "This is all about our kids."
Jackson and the Eagles program were presented a check for $1,000 from former Raiders' wide receiver Mo Bradshaw, who was on the Raiders Superbowl XI and XV winning teams.
Kennedy finished 10-2 last year for its first winning season since 1988 and tied the school record for wins in a season.
The Eagles host Richmond on Friday and with a win will claim their second consecutive outright league title.
