Chevron Announces its Dr. William King Scholarship Recipients During Black History Month Celebration

Chevron Richmond recognized four West Contra Costa Unified School District students with its annual Dr. William King Scholarships at a virtual ceremony on Wednesday, February 17.

Pinole Valley High School's Anita Chinwuba (first place), Middle College High School's Lensaa Temesgen (second place), and Nouhamin Leoulekal (third place), and Hercules High School's Jasmine Turner (fourth place) were awarded the Dr. William King Scholarships as part of Chevron Richmond's Richmond’s Black Employee Network (BEN) 2021 Black History Awareness Celebration and Scholarship recipient presentations.

Anita, Lensaa, Nouhamin, and Jasmine were recognized for their essays and their work both in and outside of the classroom.

Anita was awarded a $3,000 scholarship, Lensaa a $2,000 scholarship, Nouhamin a $1,750 scholarship, and Jasmine a $1,250 scholarship.
