League of Women Voters, District Hosting School Board Candidate Forum

RICHMOND—The League of Women Voters of West Contra Costa County and the West Contra Costa Unified School District are co hosting a virtual school board candidate forum from 10 am to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 via Zoom

For the first time, WCCUSD residents will select school board candidates based on the Trustee Area they reside. Voters will select one board member from the five Trustee areas/wards. The League of Women Voters will moderate the forum with 12 candidates seeking election in one of the five wards.  

The League and District will host four candidates forums on Saturday, starting in order with Trustee Area 1. Note there will not be a forum for Trustee Area 3, as only one candidate is seeking office.

Here is Saturday’s schedule:

  • 10 am - Trustee Area 1: Estela DePaz, Jamela Smith-Folds
  • 11 am - Trustee Area 2: Otheree Christian, Guadalupe Enllana, Audra Golddie Williams
  • 12 pm - Trustee Area 4: Y'Anad Burrell, Demetrio Gonzalez-Hoy, Matthew Trujillo
  • 1 pm -   Trustee Area 5: Tom Panas, Leslie Reckler, Carolyn Wysinger
