Interested in helping as a volunteer?
Hello WCCUSD community!
We know that getting a vaccine greatly reduces the risk of COVID-19. In our district, all students ages 12 and older are required to be vaccinated by July 1, 2022.
In WCCUSD, 87 percent of students in this age group are vaccinated. Now, we are looking for the community’s assistance in helping us reach the remaining 1,500 students who have not updated the district on their vaccination status.
Interested in helping as a Vaccine Volunteer? We are looking for individuals who are eligible to volunteer in WCCUSD to join us and “adopt” a school and assist the community. We’re starting with a focus on Richmond secondary schools, as half of the students who have yet to inform the district of their vaccination status live in Richmond. We are asking volunteers to commit to serving until the end of the school year.
Some of the volunteer duties include:
- Assist families and students in uploading vaccination cards
- Host a weekly information table on campus with vaccination facts
- Coordinate with SCOWs, school administrators and teachers on the site’s numbers
- Help promote a school-wide contest
- Help students upload their cards after they get their second shot if there is a vaccination clinic
- Promote vaccination clinics
If you are interested and have already completed WCCUSD’s volunteer process, please contact the district communications office: communications@wccusd.net. If you have not completed WCCUSD’s volunteer process, start here and please contact the communications department as well.
The deadline to sign up is Sunday, April 10, 2022.
Once you are signed up, we’ll contact you about a Vaccination Volunteer zoom orientation and assign you to a Richmond school site.
Please contact the communications department if you have any questions.
