Schools have now been closed for two weeks. I’m sure there are times it seems longer as we try to cope with the shelter in place and stay at home orders due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The next few weeks will be challenging as the public health experts tell us to prepare for a rise in the number of cases. Please take care of yourselves and your families during this time by following the guidance that has been issued by the health experts.
I also want to thank you for staying with us and for your feedback as we transition to an extended period of school closures.
District staff continue to work closely with the employee unions to finalize work expectations during the school closures due to the shelter in place and stay at home orders. More information will be shared with you early next week. We also hope to provide information about report cards at that time.
Student meal pick up will continue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 17 locations in the District. Thank you to our community partners who helped us expand the locations. To date, we have distributed nearly 90,000 meals to children. If you know of a family in need of student meals please share the 17 locations with them.
