District recognizes 75 Science/STEM Fair Winners

The annual West Contra Costa Unified School District's Science/STEM Fair had 141 students from eight different schools submit a project. And, after a day of judging, 75 students were recognized for their projects. There were 12 first place winners, including Cole Montano, a freshman at Pinole Valley High School, and Eleanor Addison, an eighth grader at Korematsu Middle School, who's projects How Clean is Your Toothbrush? and Sunscreen: Protection or Poison? won the Bob Fabini Award and Norm Seraphin Award, respectively.

Congratulations to all the winners. Students who placed first through third place advance to the Golden Gate STEM Fair on Thursday, March 21 through Saturday, March 23. The winners from the Golden Gate fair have the opportunity to reach the 68th Annual California Science & Engineering Fair on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30 at the California Science Center in Losa Angeles.
