KECG 97.7 FM is West Contra Costa Unified School District's student-led radio station, proudly broadcasting from El Cerrito High School. We are dedicated to empowering student voices through media, storytelling, and career pathways in broadcasting and journalism.

Our Roadmap
📅 Now - Spring/Summer 2026
Programming Phase Begins
WCCUSD will ensure consistent, quality daily programming on KECG for the remainder of the 25-26 school year with popular music the latest Board and committee meeting recordings. During this phase:
- District will provide regular broadcast schedule including latest School Board and Committee Meetings
- WCCUSD students contribute station IDs and announcements
- Student-created segments, commercials, and vignettes featured on air
- Audio submission process opens for all district students
🎓 Fall 2026
Radio Broadcasting Class Returns
We plan to reopen the radio station class at El Cerrito High School, providing comprehensive training in:
- Radio broadcasting fundamentals
- Audio production and programming
- Content creation and storytelling
- Technical operations and FCC compliance
- On-air performance and hosting
🚀 Beyond Fall 2026
Increased Student Leadership
As students complete training and develop their skills, KECG will transition to increased student-led programming, with students taking on expanding roles in show creation, production, and station management.
🎤 Students: Get Involved!
We will begin accepting audio submissions from WCCUSD students for a chance to be on the air! Whether you want to record station announcements, create 2-minute segments about topics you care about, be a voiceover talent, or share what's happening at your school.
