Ms. Aghavali

Hi! My name is Roya Aghavali and I am a first-year teacher at Vista K-12 Virtual Academy as a supervising teacher for grades 9-12. I received my Bachelor in Arts in Anthropology from UC Berkeley and then continued to get my Masters of Arts in Education at UC Berkeley as well. I became an educator because I believe that all students are able to thrive and learn and become the best versions of who they are if they are in a supportive and loving environment. From the first day I started student teaching at Richmond High School in WCCUSD, my first priority was to build relationships with every single one of my students so that I could support their needs and growth. When I got this job I thought to myself, "This is the job I never knew I wanted" because it allows me to fully focus on building meaningful relationships with every single one of my students. My credential is in social studies and I nerd out on history! I also have a deep passion for cooking and baking (I have watched every single Netflix cooking/food show there is and am still trying to find more!) I love hiking, swimming, and dancing and I am always trying to find new recipes to try in my free time!
