    Welcome to the 2019-20 school year and Miss. Townsend's Chemistry classes! 

     

    Chemistry is the study of the composition of matter and energy changes.  This study includes the investigation of the properties and structure of matter and its reactions at the atomic and molecular level.  The study of chemistry analyzes the way in which substances interact, combine, and change to form new products.

    The laboratory experiments will reinforce the topics discussed in class.

    This course meets the Next Generation Science Standards. It also meets the Physical Science Lab requirements for graduation, as well as UC California and CSU requirements.

    Chemistry may seem to be a daunting subject, but it can also be fun.

    With hard work and persistence, you can successfully pass chemistry and enjoy doing so. I look forward to getting more acquainted with each and every one of you!

  • Hello Students and Parents,

     

    As you know, the school closure due to COVID-19 will continue through the end of the school year.  Understandably, these are unprecedented and complex times. 

     

    I will continue to hold classes via Zoom.  For security purposes, I will not post the meeting IDs and passwords here.  However, I have posted this information in the syllabus. I will continue to send communications via email, text, Google Classroom, and Remind. 

    The times for the classes are as follows:

     

    Biology: Tuesdays - 9:00 - 10 am

    Chemistry Wednesdays - 9:00 - 10 am

     

    I will post all lab assignments in Google Classroom.
