Regional Occupation Program (ROP)
The Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) offers ROP classes on the campus of Richmond High School. ROP classes use Career Technical Education (CTE) standards to help prepare students for career and/or college. This type of learning is the new vocational style, replacing woodshop and metalshop with service-based industries like Health, Law, Performing Arts, Engineering and Media. These classes are supported by the county (ROP) as well as state grants known as California Partnership Academy Pathways (CPA).
At Richmond High School, we have 5 Academies that are wall-to-wall, meaning that all students participate in one of the five academies we offer. Each student begins in 9th grade and progresses through the currciulum to their senior year.
