WeTip Safety Program

WCCUSD is a member of the  WETIP SAFETY program.

WeTip is an anonymous, national crime tip program. Using the 800 hotline number, students, staff, and neighbors may anonymously report school crime. WeTip's mission is to protect children from crime and criminals.

WeTip provides toll-free telephone lines, staffed by bi-lingual operators, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All WeTip callers are absolutely, forever anonymous. WeTip never uses caller ID or tapes or traces their calls. Rewards of up to $1,000, upon conviction, are offered to the anonymous callers.

   • Anonymity also helps eliminate any bias that might occur if a report could be linked back to a specific person. This can be crucial in ensuring that the investigation into the report is impartial and objective.

5. Prevents Misuse of the Reporting System:

• Online Reporting: The system often includes an online portal where reports can be submitted anonymously, sometimes without even requiring an email address or any identifying details.
• Follow-Up: In some cases, anonymous reports are given a report number, and the person who made the report can follow up on the status of the investigation without revealing their identity.
