Overview
Middle and high school students (grades 7–12), as well as 6th grade students at Mira Vista, Montalvin, Peres, Stewart, and Verde who qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Meals program, may apply for the Student Bus Pass Program (SBPP) to receive a free monthly AC Transit Youth Pass or a WestCAT ticket (valid for 31 days).
Completed applications must be submitted at the start of each academic year.
The SBPP has funding for 2,200 bus passes per month. Passes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Bus Pass applications are due mid-September and students accepted into the program will begin receiving a monthly bus pass in October. Once all 2,200 slots are filled, a waiting list will be created.
HOW TO GET A BUS PASS
To participate in the SBPP program, the student must:
- Complete the Educational Benefits form for the current school year.
- Submit an SBPP application by mid-September (check with your school for the exact date) for the first distribution. If the first distribution is missed, applications are accepted throughout the school year.
- Maintain monthly attendance of 95% or higher.
