Library Services
WCCUSD Library Services is dedicated to fostering a love of reading and supporting student learning by providing access to a wide range of print and digital materials across the district’s 49 schools. The library services program offers students the resources they need to develop literacy skills, engage in research, and explore diverse subjects, both inside and outside the classroom.
Library services are supported by professional staff, including credentialed librarians and library technicians, who work to ensure that each school’s library is a dynamic learning hub.
These staff members are funded through a parcel tax approved by local voters, ensuring that every student has access to high-quality library services. This funding is secured through June 2027, with budgets reviewed annually by the Citizens Oversight Committee for Parcel Taxes to ensure transparency and accountability.
In addition to providing physical books, WCCUSD Library Services offers digital resources, such as e-books, online databases, and educational platforms, allowing students to access information anytime, anywhere. These resources support curriculum goals and help students develop the critical thinking skills necessary for academic success.
Library services also include promoting literacy programs, supporting classroom teachers, and organizing special events such as book fairs, author visits, and reading challenges, all aimed at engaging students and encouraging lifelong reading habits.
Overall, WCCUSD’s Library Services plays an essential role in helping students succeed academically, while also fostering a love of reading and learning.
