Degrees and Certifications:
Hello Students, Parents and Guardians,
My Name is Katherine Villanueva and it is my pleasure and honor to be your child’s Resource Teacher and Case Manager this 2017-2018 school year. I am very excited to work with your child and be a resource and helping hand for their success in achieving their academic and personal goals. I am also excited to work alongside you in this process. I believe parent/ guardian involvement is important for progress and it is my intention to communicate frequently with you to accomplish this.
This will be my 19th year of teaching high school. I have a Credential in Health Education and a Master's in Curriculum. I received my Special Education Credential in 2013 and became a resource teacher at Pinole Valley High School in the fall of 2013. Pinole Valley is an amazing school and I am honored to be member of the faculty and of our Special Education Department.
As a parent of two daughters, I know how challenging it is to ensure that your children are receiving the supports the need to be successful in school and in life. My goal it to provide your student with what they need while they are at Pinole Valley in order to be successful.
During the 2017-2018 school year students will receive support in the academic classes as well as planning for transition after high school. Students will work on setting goals and planning for their transition after high school.
If at any time during this year you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me. I am available for my students and their families at any time, so please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. I am available via email
