The Resource Specialist Program (RSP) is a Special Education service extended to students in the General Education setting who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). There is no specific course for this class because all activities or lessons are goals driven. When a student comes to his or her Tutorial class, the specific goals in the IEP are addressed. In this class, an individualized instruction is given. Every student in class has a specific task or lesson, based on their academic needs in order to help bridge the gap from where they're at to where they are expected to be. Academic support in their current classes are also provided when there is enough time. An arother way of supporting them in the general education is when the RSP teacher and the teacher aide push-in their class. Choosing which class to push-in depends on how many students with an IEP is in that class. We make sure that there is a push-in for ELA and Math where there are RSP students the most. They are supported in Science and History as well.
