Senior Profile for the Common Application
Complete your Senior Profile prior to Senior year (ideal time would be the summer before Senior year).
The Senior Profile helps your counselor prepare your letter of recommendation. This is your chance to brag about yourself. The more you share about yourself, your experiences/achievements/awards/ accomplishments the BETTER. Don't be afraid to brag about yourself, tell us what makes you unique.
Plan to meet with your counselor in May of your Junior year to review senior profile expectations, requirements, deadlines, etc. Schedule a meeting with your counselor in September to go over your Senior Profile, discuss common app logistics, deadlines (especially if you are applying early) If time permits, try to schedule a follow-up meeting with your counselor.
Email your counselor for the Common Application
This form is for students who need counselor recommendations for college admissions. They are typically required for private/independent colleges and universities. The following questions will help your counselor prepare your recommendation. Colleges are looking for specific information, examples, and anecdotes, so please provide as many of these as possible.
Please answer these questions on a separate page (or pages).
Make a copy for yourself and hand the original to your guidance counselor in Student Services, or email it to your counselor through the ECHS Website, Please type. Please return the completed Senior Profile to your counselor by the end of September for Early Action/Decision or by early-October for Regular Decision.
If you are applying Rolling Admission, osk your counselor when they will need to receive your profile. If you are behind schedule, contact your counselor directly. Be aware that counselors write many recommendations so be considerate and turn in your profile as early as possible.
