Mr. Malagon

My name is Arnulfo Malagon.  I am really excited to be part of the Vista Virtual Academy team as a High School Supervising Teacher.

I am a life-long learner and I believe that my students can reach whatever goals they set in life.

A little about me… I grew up in Mexico in a small farming community.  I went to school in Mexico up to the 3rd grade.  I would always hurry to do my homework before it got dark, because back then my town did not have running water, gas, electricity, internet, or Wifi.  When I was 8 years old, I immigrated with my family to Orange County CA.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in P.E. and was credentialed as a Multi-Subject Bilingual Cross-Cultural Elementary teacher.  Early in my teaching career, I also completed a master’s degree in Computer Education and began combining technology as a tool to deliver instruction.

My experience as an educator includes 10 years in a Bilingual Elementary Program and 20 years in High School which included 10 years in an Independent Study Program.  My High School single subject teaching experience includes teaching all levels of Spanish, Computer Education, and Physical Education.   During my career I have also been a District Foreign Language and Technology Mentor Teacher district wide, an Online Learning Site Coordinator, and a High School Flag Football and Basketball Coach.

I chose to be a teacher because I enjoy learning, teaching, coaching and helping others to grow, reach their goals and be lifelong learners.
