School Vision
The
staff at TLC are committed to providing students with the academic and
behavioral skills required to reason, communicate, and live with dignity in a
literate society. Our staff strives to promote instruction that allows all
students to progress in the academic standard set forth by the state, the
district, and instructional focus at our site. We assist students in gaining
the academic competence and responsibility required to find success through
their school years and into the world of work. School Mission statement
We realize that reading is the
fundamental skill upon which all formal education depends. A child who doesn’t learn to do
reading basics is unlikely to learn at all. Any child who hasn’t learned to
read early and well will not easily master other skills and knowledge and is
unlikely to flourish in school or life. Therefore,
the mission for TLC, in partnership with a staff experienced in special
education, families and community, is to inspire each student to become
proficient in reading and all related components of reading, thereby
improving pro-social skills, enhancing diverse enrichment experiences,
increasing self-esteem and mutual respect to learning and the creation of a
better world. |
