WCCUSD Performance Evaluation

In October 2006, the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) contracted with MGT of America, Inc. http://www.mgtamer.com/ to conduct a performance evaluation of the school district. The review focused on the financial, organizational, and operational effectiveness of WCCUSD.
MGT of America reviewed existing records and data sources, interviewed employees, board members, county personnel concerning the management and operations, and surveyed employees for determining how the opinions and perceptions of central office administrators, principals/assistant principals and teachers varied. A team of ten consultants conducted formal on-site review of the structure and operations. Operation comparisons were made with other similarly characteristic school districts in California .
WCCUSD Educational Audit
Conducted by National Center for Educational Accountability (NCEA)
In the fall of 2006, National Center for Educational Accountability (NCEA) conducted an educational audit of WCCUSD. The group from NCEA visited every school, reviewed a substantial amount of data, examined program information, conducted a survey of teachers and licensed administrators and interviewed more than 200 staff in WCCUSD. NCEA then compared the educational practices in WCCUSD with those of more than 500 schools in its body of research on best practices for schools that have made substantial improvement in student performance.
