This rubric is intended to be individualized by the classroom teacher by filling in the blanks in accordance with the curriculum. For example:

Basic Skills (math, multiplication)

Strategies (computer literacy, beginning class)

5. Evidences superior strategies in all areas.

  1. Always saves to disk rather than hard drive.
  2. Always uses help or manual for solutions when working independently.
  3. Always tries to adjust format to purpose.

Acquisition of Information (video)

  1. 4. Acquires all necessary information some of the time.
  2. a. Usually remembers basic camera shooting techniques (leader, frame, focus, and follow).

  3. b. Usually remembers how to use advanced camera techniques (fade, dissolve, pan, tilt, truck, and
  4. special effects).

You now have a choice. You may choose to assess you class on only the first section of this rubric (basic skills). However, if you are teaching an AP English Class, you would probably be more interested in using the other three areas (strategies, acquisition, and application). This rubric should be used in conjunction with your regular assessments or curricular tests.
