Lesson 2: Student Poster Collage

OUTCOME:  Students will use magazines, computer print-outs, lettering, markers, and anything else that they can get their hands on, to create a poster that explains who they are and what job they would like to acquire in the future.

CONDITIONS:  The lesson will take approximately 3 class periods to complete.

ACTIVITIES:  Based on the outcome of their Student Fact Sheet, students will be challenged to create a poster that displays their own individual characteristics.  Multi-medium of the students
choice will be used, incorporating ideas expressed in Lesson HI.  Upon completion of
their piece, students will share and explain to classmates why they chose the combination
of elements used on the poster.

MATERIALS:  Poster board, markers, magazine cut-outs, computer print-outs, newspaper headings, photographs and anything else that can be pasted or attached to their board.

METHOD OF ASSESSMENT: Students will be observed using Lifeskills Rubric, Creativity.

STANDARDS: Language Arts/ Listening and Speaking, grade 8.
