Lesson Plan 3--Computer/English/History--Gutenberg and beyond!

Outcome: Students will understand how to use the Note Sheet for

Internet Resources/Bibliography for each source found during internet searches to be used in developing timeline as discussed

from 3000 B.C. to 2000 A.D.

Conditions: One class period.

Classroom Activities:

1. Pass out Note Sheet for Internet Resources/Bibliography which asks students to record information. Also, pass out an article about

Gutenberg and the printing press with pertinent information

to be used in filling out the note sheet:

a. Student's Name

b. Teacher's Name

c.  Author of Article

d. Title of article and magazine/book and chapter

e. Internet address

f. Abstract

g. Lengthy notes/quotes

2.  Go over each item with student, working together to fill out

the information re. the Gutenberg article.

3. If time remains, help students go on line and find the internet

address of the article.

4. If more time remains, help students do a word search for

the printing press, etc.

5. Homework is to find another article which fits into the timeline.

Materials:       Note Sheets for Internet/Bibliography Gutenberg articles

Method of Assessment: Access Lifeskills Rubric--Accuracy, completion, initiative, and use of resources.

Modifications/Accommodations: Teacher to walk around and monitor students needing more assistance. Those who are finished may be asked to help those having trouble.

Standards Addressed:2.0 Reading Comprehension (Focus on Informational Materials).
